It seems as if Luc had fallen into madness completely. He attacked and killed the soldier who was sounding the alarm. Marlow, who came to help Luc, had now left him after seeing what he has become. He had contained his emotions all his life and now all the pain and hatred he had kept was bursting out of him, causing him to lose all self control. 

The soldiers arrive at the scene and found only Luc and two dead Ramoan soldiers. Needless to say, Luc was seen by the soldiers but instead of smoldering him with numerous soldiers, the Vice captain had his men stand down. With the captain slain, the remainder of the Ramoan soldiers was left to the hands of Vice Captain Kryso. Even though he was a rank below a Captain, it didn't mean he was weaker. Vice Captain Kryso is one of Ramoa's best skilled swordsmen. He was to be promoted to the position of Captain some years ago but he respectfully declined, stating that he prefers a lower rank because it allows for more fighting.


The experienced Vice Captain Kyrso knew that Luc was not someone his men could take on. Kyrso was carrying a bag, wet from blood, on his left hand. He loosened the ropes on the bag and tossed it's content at Luc's feet. It was the decapitated head of Borgon, the War Chief of the Delvic horde. This was merely to try and intimidate Luc and to show Luc that he was able to best Borgon.

"I hear you killed 2000 Delvas, that's impressive but let's see how well you fair against someone like me." Immediately after Kyrso finished his sentence, he disappeared in front of Luc's eyes and reappeared behind him with his two swords already drawn and posed to strike down at Luc.

When Luc hoped out of his bed and when Marlow entered the room, the dark figure suddenly vanishes like smoke. Luc's attacks almost hit Marlow but the half man half elf, was light on his feet and managed to get away. The walls, the floor and the ceiling however, suffered the wrath of Luc's rage. His blade cleaved straight through the roof and the concrete walls. There was no telling what would've happened to Marlow had he been hit by one of Luc's attacks.

Their reunion seemed more aggressive than friendly. Luc was different since Marlow last saw him, he had gotten stronger a lot stronger. It was evident in the size and consistency of his energy blade. It had a more defined shape and broader in size. Also his appearance seem darker and more brooding than before.

While the two of them are getting reacquainted, alarms started sounding off. The regimen, sent to track down the Delvas who fled towards the mountains, had returned. They found the dried up corpses of their fellow soldiers scattered all over the town. The only place left with a light was the house where Marlow, Luc, and Durzan are currently in. A single soldier arrived at the scene and saw the dead soldier outside of Luc's room and then they saw Marlow and Luc inside the room. With the real culprit out of sight, the soldiers instantly blame Luc and Marlow for the deaths of their comrades. He pulls out his whistle and starts blowing on it forcefully. The other soldiers were alerted and began running towards the house.

Meanwhile, Durzan was left in the room where Marlow slaughtered the Captain and his mates. He was injured but he could still ambulate properly. There were stocks of swords and weapons used by the Ramoan army in the next room. Durzan could easily take of the weapons to replace his rusty sword, and then he could escape before he's found out by the reinforcements.

In a dark alley, somewhere in town, the dark creature had just finished devouring it's last meal, which it needed to regrow it's less displeasing appearance. The creature had taken some of the clothes of it's victims and dawned it upon itself to mascaraed as one of the soldiers.

Fry, with his freshly scavenged meat, was able to quietly sneak away from the soldiers patrolling the area. The human weighed less than nothing compared to what Fry was used to carrying, allowing him to move quickly. However, there are other things patrolling the massacre site other than the Ramoan infantry. Dark beings called the Shade spotted Fry and began to slowly follow him.

Shades are shadow creatures that can move without making any sound, meaning they are excellent sneak predators. They are able to moved in complete darkness with ease. First there was only one of them, then two, then four, then eight. They moved closer and closer to Fry without him knowing until Fry felt something tug on his tail. At first he thought he might have gotten it stuck, but then he felt a burning sensation at the tip of his tail. A closer inspection revealed that something had grabbed on to his tail, a Shade. It was crawling on the floor like a hound, pulling Fry into the darkness.

As he looked around, Fry noticed that there were more of the dark creatures steadily approaching him. These things were afraid of light, but if Fry were to use magic or light a torch, he would only alert the Ramoan Soldiers of his presence.

Night time. Fry eventually reached his destination. Countless bodies lay mangled and devoured on the open field. It was dark but his gatorqin eyes could see well in this kind of lighting. There were several Ramoan Soldiers equipped with torches searching the are for survivors, it would be ideal for Fry to stay clear from them.

Most of the corpses reeked of poison, from the venom of the creatures that attacked them, but the venom can be rid off if boiled long enough at high temperatures. Some of the corpses belonged to middle class types of people, this meant an upgrade from commoners and peasants that Fry was used to cooking. Some had a lot of fat, a perfect source of energy, and other were as thin as sticks.

Also none of the corpses looked fresh save for one. There was a body laying in the field covered in mud. He was still alive, but his pulse was faint and could be mistaken for dead easily. Beside him was what looked like a PETRIFIED SWORD, the boy had a death grip on the thing and won't let go. This would all be an easy fix, all Fry had to do was chop off the boy's fingers or hand.

Fry didn't have a lot of time to find all the meat ingredients he needed because the Ramoan soldiers were closing in on his location. He needed to decide which ones he will take with him back to his kitchen.

Durzan certainly surprised the captain and his men. They were very quick on their feet though. The soldiers were able to grab their weapons and form up in front of their captain. This wasn't going to be an easy fight. Durzan was going up against a Ramoan Knight Captain and 3 other soldiers. Furthermore, his weapon is only a rusty sword, truly the odds are stacked against him.

On a positive note, the four men were pretty intoxicated in alcohol. This would greatly affect their fighting abilities, perhaps enough for Durzan to pull a win. Durzan also had the jump on them meaning he has initiative in this battle.

Durzan manages to safely get inside the house, via the back door, without being spotted. His equipment are in placed on top of the table just a few feet away from him. The Captain and his men are cheerfully drinking in the other room, completely oblivious to Durzan's presence.  Unfortunately, one of the patrols passed by the gate where Durzan was previously being held. He noticed that the Delva had escaped and immediately went for his whistle.

He was about to blow on his whistle, to alert the others, when all of the sudden he was pulled into the shadows by an unknown creature with yellow glowing eyes. The guard's partner dropped his torch and ran quickly in fear. But the creature chased him and caught as he passed behind the empty houses. Blood splattered all over the walls as the creature tore up it's prey's flesh. It was the same creature that Durzan saw in the sewers, the same one that murdered the inhabitant of Silent Hall. But it looked different from before. As it continued to consume human flesh, the creature's appearance begins to change. It started growing hair on it's head and it's facial features were closer to that of a human.

Durzan was very lucky that the chain just suddenly snapped into two after testing it out for weaknesses. This allowed Durzan to escape his situation but not the cold. He still needed to find clothes and fast. His balls were starting to freeze off, literally. To make matters worse, the guards just changed shifts meaning the current ones patrolling the streets are more energized than the last batch.

There aren't many soldiers in the town though. Nearly half of the two thousand soldiers were outside pursuing the fleeing Delvas, and some troops were also dispatched to the west to investigate the missing caravan. Both patrols haven't reported back yet, and it seems like this was going to be one of those long nights. The captain and his circle of friends decided to drink the night away, all the while laughing at Durzan and playing with his severed horn.

Meanwhile, Marlow successfully infiltrated and navigated through the town unseen. He was able to learn the location of Luc and was now stealth-fully situated right on top of the house where Luc is being kept. Luc was still asleep but he has already fully recovered from his wounds thanks to being healed using magic.

"How dare you talk about my daughter! Men take this piece of trash and tie him up outside. Let's see how tough he is out in the cold." The captain got really angry at Durzan for talking back to him and mentioning his daughter. As instructed, the guards dragged Durzan out into the open and chained him to onto one of the iron gates. The conditions outside were severely punishing. As additional punishment, Durzan was stripped of all his clothes and armor. One of the guards took a bucket of water and splashed it all over Durzan's bare skin. Then they left him there to freeze.

As the night grew darker, the temperatures got colder. Durzan is a tough person, but the cold was starting to get to him. His body shivers uncontrollably. The Captain and his men are all sitting comfortably inside a warm room drinking booze, patiently waiting for Durzan's will to break.

Durzan's resilience only made his situation worse. The Captain tried asking Durzan nicely, as expected, Durzan wouldn't talk about their mission. Being a honorary member of the Delvic horde, Durzan would probably die before leaking any information about his mission. Still they had the try and extract it out of him.

The captain had his men hold Durzan down on the ground. Then he pulled out his knife and sliced off one of Durzan's horns. Unlike other animals with horns, Delva horns do not grown back once cut off. He pocketed the severed horn and said, "My daughter's always wanted one of this. If you don't want to lose your other horn, I suggest you start talking tell me what your mission is."

The Captain didn't really need a to keep Durzan alive as a prisoner, he could just kill him and burn his body like the rest of his friends. Whether or not Durzan decides to talk, the Ramoan Captain was still going to kill him.

Marlow made the right decision leaving the wilderness and heading over to the town. It was night time already, and the amount of death had attracted several types of dark creatures including Shades. Some Shades tend to stay away from any type of light, but there are others who are willing to risk leaving the dark in order to snatch a person and drag them down into a world of void.

While he was sneaking around the town, avoiding sentry after sentry, he came across a group of guards who were talking about Luc. They were at awe with what Luc had accomplished on his own. The boy took out more than 2000 Delvas all on his own. They weren't able to witness the actual battle or Luc using the Vermilion Eye, but the corpses speak for themselves. There was no one else in that field that field other than the Delvas and Luc. They also mentioned Luc's whereabouts. He was being kept in a two story house in the middle of town, unfortunately it was just across the main hall where the Ramoan Army setup their base.

After hearing Durzan's story the guards, including the captain, fell silent. They paused and looked at each other. There was an obvious tension building up inside them. One of the guards twitched his eyes and soon after everyone started laughing.

"Don't say I never did nothing for you all." The guard who called the captain said. Everyone continued laughing they found Durzan's story to be quite hilarious. They made Durzan retell his story just so they could laugh at him. These men weren't going to believe a word that comes out of Durzan's mouth.

The captain walked up to Durzan and grabbed him by his horn and said, "You know what I think? I think you and your horde did all this. Since you're in the talking mood, mind if I ask. What are you westerners doing here in our country? You better tell me or I'll make sure you and your brothers take the fall for this."

What Durzan was saying is the truth. It would explain why the bodies were found half eaten and why the whole town had gone missing, still until there's concrete proof there was no way they'd listen to the rants of the foreign invader. One of the guards did however, find Durzan's story to be quite interesting. He tapped his comrade in the shoulder and told him to wait while he went to get the captain.

A few minutes later the Captain of the Ramoan knights entered Durzan's cell, along with his lieutenant. They first gave Durzan a leather flask filled with water and asked the Delva to tell the story again from the start.

The bodies of the dead were collected and stacked up into one pile. In Wrozan a decree was made 2000 year ago, after the Undead Uprising, to burn all the bodies of the dead. Wrozan wasn't going to make the same mistake  they did in the past. While the bodies were being burned, the Ramoan soldiers continued to search for survivors in the desolated town of Silent Hall. One of the patrols found a reeking smell in the sewers and decided to check it out, only to find the hundreds of rotting corpses left there by the creature.

Their follow up investigation contradicts their initial assessment that this was the Delvas doing. They now know that something far more sinister was at play. They decided to pull out the bodies in the sewers and add them to the pyre of burning corpses. It was then that they found Durzan, he was conscious but weak. The Ramoan Army captured Durzan, took away his weapons, bound his hands and feet, and locked him up inside an abandoned house with two guards watching over him.

Meanwhile, Luc was nursed back to health using Healing Magic which means that all his injuries have been healed almost instantly. Not knowing anything about him, they decided to isolate him inside a room, with only one guard watching over him.

On another topic, a group of civilians arrived from the west scared and exhausted. They were part of the caravan fleeing from Vhetlaug, originally there were thousands of them but only a handful made it to Silent Hall. The remainder of the caravan, including the Haremfield lady warriors and Sylvan are either dead or still lost in the western fields after they were attacked by flying creatures.

"Help us!" The old woman cried out. She was petrified with fear and couldn't speak properly. But she was able to partially describe the horror that they encountered on their way here. The Ramoan Army dispatched several troops to investigate on the caravan.

Marlow, who is safely hidden somewhere on the outskirts of town, heard a voice call out to him from behind. It was getting dark and this much death usually attracts certain types of dark creatures. It would be best for him to find shelter and a light source soon, for there are things in the dark that he should be weary of.

Just when Borgon and Luc were about to clash, battle horns and thundering footsteps roared over the southern horizon. The Delvic Horde was in disarray, they looked to the south and saw thousands of Ramoan knights riding towards them, shouting their battle cries. The Delvic horde was not in the proper formation to intercept the Knights. They had just formed a makeshift duel arena around Luc and Borgon, and they lacked the proper mounts to counter the Ramoan army's mounted horsemen.

In one coordinated attack, the Ramoan army quickly surrounded the Delvas and trampled their defenses, sweeping them like dirty in the snow. Their spears plunged deep in the Delvas thick armor. 2000 Ramons Knights against approximately 7000 Delvas. Despite their lack in numbers, the Ramoan Knights were on mounts and have the element of surprise, giving them a distinct advantage over the Delvas.

With their perimeter defenses decimated, two hundered Ramoan cavalry punched a hole through the Delva's circle formation defense. This allowed them to reach Luc and Borgon.

One knight was about to trust his spear into Borgon's chest, but the Warchief was no easy mark. He intercepted the spear with his gigantic hammer, breaking the weapon like a toothpick versus a hammer. Borgon took down as many of the Ramoan forces as he could but it was clearly not enough to affect the fate of his horde. Borgon had to abandon his duel with Luc in order to lead his horde against the surprise attack. The Ramoans avoided attacking Luc, they were watching him from over the horizon and saw him as an ally more than anything.

When the Delvas were finally able to form a proper defense their number had shrunk down dramatically, leaving them with only 800 men. With Borgon's strength and leadership, the Delvas were able to clear a path for their escape. They were forced to retreat back to the frigid mountains, the trees and rough terrain will give them a slight advantage over the mounted knights.

The Ramoans chased the Delvas up the mountains, they knew that they could leave any of them alive, not one, or else more would come back. The Delvic Horde are very persistent, if they want something they won't stop until they get it. Meanwhile, Luc had passed out because of exhaustion and his injuries. He was taken by the Ramoan army to be healed and debriefed.

The Ramoan army entered Silent Hall and found empty streets, but unlike before when they entered the houses they found dead bodies, half eaten and frozen. Most of the bodies were found on their beds, indicating that they were killed while asleep. The Ramoan army blamed the Delvas for what happened in Silent Hall, little did they know that the true culprit was right under their nose.

When Durzan cast his little magic ball of light the singing stopped. His light barely reached the end the tunnel but it was enough to give him somewhat of an advantage visually. There was a foul stench coming from inside the dark tunnel. Countless numbers of fallen hair littered the ground, some of them stuck on the bottom of Durzan's shoe.

Soon Durzan reached the end tunnel and he found nothing, no girl, no monster. It was dead end, a trap. Suddenly, a thick steel slab dropped down from the other end of the tunnel, trapping Durzan inside a dark and wet cylinder.

A closer inspection of the tunnel revealed a small opening on the top, which the creature used to bounce off sound and to lure Durzan into it's trap. Water then poured down from the small hole, it started slow but rapidly increased in force. The creature was trying to drown Durzan to prevent him from defending himself while it ate him.

This dark creature proved to be a cunning and masterful predator. It used magic, tools, and even used Durzan's dreams to lure the Delva into a death trap. Not many monsters had this kind of wit and intelligence. Durzan was dealing with no ordinary beast, he underestimated it and now he was about to drown for his mistake.

Time was running out for Durzan, water was filling up the enclosed tunnel very quickly. The walls are at least 3-feet thick, Durzan doesn't have the fire power to break through them. The water was now all the way up to Durzan's neck and rising higher and higher by the second.

The five Delvas were under Durzan's command. They trusted him to be their leader in what was supposed to be a simple negotiation mission. None of them could've known what awaited for them in the fog drowned town of Silent Hall. But as proud Delvas, they didn't deserve a foul death such as this. Not only were they killed in their sleep, they were also eaten like pigs.

Against a creature that fed on fear, courage was Durzan's strongest weapon. He chose to investigate the voice he heard. It led him to a flooded area where the water level is up to his shoulders. The closer he got to the source, the more he was able to discern what the sound really was. It was singing, gentle, joyful singing.

The song she was singing didn't sound like anything Durzan knew. It was also being sang in a language Durzan didn't understand. The evidence that this was a trap was pilling up more and more by the minute. Fear and doubt was being fed into Durzan's heart and mind. Perhaps this was the creature's way to making Durzan afraid, which in turn will make it stronger.

Was it another dream or illusion? Was it a trap? Or was it real? There was only one way to find out. Durzan would have to go forward, if not for himself, then for his fallen comrades. One thing was for certain though, who ever was singing is sitting just around the next corner.

Durzan reached the end of the flooded passageway and found himself at the entrance of a dark and ominous round tunnel. The passageway was small, Durzan wouldn't be able to fight properly inside because of his large frame. Aside from being small, the passage was also pitch black and Durzan couldn't see anything inside. The girl who is singing is definitely in there, but why doesn't she come out?

Death crept up on Durzan, it felt like he was being strangled. His vision became blurry and his strength felt like it was fading. There was nothing he could do, as the monster slowly too his life away from him, but regress to him own dreams. With the help of his own nightmares, Durzan was able to will himself out of the spell. When he opened his eyes he saw the monster right up his face, drooling down on him.


As soon as Durzan awoke, the monster released him from its deadly grip and quickly ran away into one of the dark tunnels. Durzan found himself inside a cold, dark, moist place. The most likely location was the sewers. He had scratches all over his body, indicating that he was dragged down here. Around him were the half eaten corpses of his comrades. The monster was killing them off one by one as they slept, then it would proceed to eat their bodies while still fresh. There were more bodies down in the sewers, most likely the villagers of Silent Hall. 

Suddenly, Durzan heard what he thought was thunder, coming from the floors above. It was the sound of thousands of shields and pole arms being driven repeated onto the ground. The Delvic army was chanting, a duel between Luc and the Warchief was about to happen. Aside from the thunderous chants, he also heard a girl's voice coming from one of the tunnels. Perhaps it was a survivor, or the monster playing tricks on him, trying to lure Durzan into a trap.

Delvic horns were being sounded left and right. The horns were so loud that it was able to get through the fog and @Durzan was able to hear them even while inside the nightmare. Thousands of Delvic Warriors died at the hands of one man. Luc Seifer, with the help of the Vermilion Eye, was able to defeat an estimate of 2,000 Delvic Soldiers in battle. However, the epic battle had to come to a conclusion.

Borgon has seen enough, he wasn't willing to waste anymore of his men, Luc has killed off over 20% of his entire horde. Realizing that he could lose them all, he called off the attack and made his way to challenge the raven-haired boy in a one on one duel.

The horns faded away, and the army halted their attack on Luc. They moved out of the way, and created a path for their Warchief. Borgon was a 7 foot, muscular Delva, with blue skin, and two long horns ivory on the side of his face. His weapon was a large hammer with the traditional Delvic design, reinforced steel head with a flat surface. 

"Enough! I am your opponent now!" Borgon said out loud. The remaining Delvic forces surrounded Luc and Borgon, to form a makeshift arena. If Luc can defeat Borgon, then the remaining Delvas will lose morale and might retreat.

Luc was far too immersed in his rage, that he forgot to realize just how much of a bad shape he is in. The human boy had a collapsed lung and a long laceration on his back which kept bleeding.

Borgon walked around Luc, carrying his huge hammer on his shoulder, assessing his foe. The Delvic Warchief had respect for the young boy, even though he killed so many of his men. What Luc did, was no easy task. Each one of the Delvic Soldiers he killed were trained to become warriors from the day they were born. Yet all it took was a single swing of his spell conjured blade to take them down. 

To Borgon, it didn't matter what Luc's reason was for attacking them. The boy came here to fight and that's all that matters. Borgon stopped in front of Luc and pointed his hammer towards the boy and said to him, "I am Borgon Garam, War Chief of the Delva'shok. Before I kill you. Tell me your name, and I'll make sure your bravery will be known among my people."

Durzan's plan, charging head on in a corridor full of traps, proved to be a terrible idea. He ran into more traps than he would've taking it slow. He was lucky the last trap missed him or his head would be rolling on the floor by now. Still, Durzan was far luckier than his comrades, at least he was still alive.

The injuries Durzan had suffered were near fatal. He didn't have the strength left to walk straight, let alone stand, but that's not the worst of it. The blades attached to the traps were rusty and full of bacteria. Durzan's wounds will become infected soon if he doesn't find a way to clean them and get the proper dose of antibiotics. But infection, still, isn't the worst thing Durzan should be worrying about.

As Durzan laid motionless on the floor, brown leaves started blowing in from the ceiling. It scattered all around the corridor and even on top of Durzan's body. A few feet away from him, a dark and ominous creature rose up from the floor boards. It's eyes, of glowing yellow, stared deep into Durzan's heart.
